It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Michael J. Drake of Fortune announces his passing at sea on Tuesday, December 15th, 2020 at the age of 48.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are mother, Theresa Drake (Randell Coady); son, Michael Vardy of Texas; daughter, Megan Vardy of Texas; step-daughters, Sarah Vardy of Grand Bank and Rebecca Vardy of St. John’s; sisters; Raelene Carroll (Darren) of Fortune, Bonnie Drake (Mervin Kearley) of Grand Le Pierre and Sandra Drake (Ambrose Bolt) of Grand Le Pierre; 1 step-grandchild, Nevaeh; plus a large circle of relatives and friends.
Michael was predeceased by his father, Michael Drake Sr.; brother, John Drake.
The Drake Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home in Fortune. In order to maintain social distancing and to follow the public health advisory of COVID 19, a walk through visitation will take place on Monday, December 21st from 3pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm and Tuesday, December 22nd from 10am to 12 noon. A maximum of 20 people at any one time is permitted. A private funeral service will be held at Wiseman’s Funeral Home, Fortune on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2020 at 2:00pm.
As per COVID 19 regulations, everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the building and masks are required. Please note that there is no food permitted in the building.
Cremation will take place.
In Michael’s memory and in-lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Drake Family.
