Melvin William Bolton
Melvin William Bolton, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Enderby, BC, and Grande Cache, AB, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020, in Grande Prairie, at the age of 91 years.
Mel was born in Chilliwack, BC, on October 26, 1928. Melvin met Nancy in 1956 when she came west and they were married on December 22nd. They had four children: Linda, Tim, Karen, and Connie. Mel worked several jobs throughout his life, as a truck driver, farmhand, millwright, shift supervisor, recreation director, handyman, and gardener.
He was a hardworking man. He loved to tease and have fun with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mel loved gardening, playing games and having coffee with his neighbours and friends.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years, Nancy; as well as his daughters: Linda (Bill) Land, Karen (Phil) Lutton, and Connie (Don) Sowell; grandchildren: Keri Land, Julie (Tim) Walter, Catherine (Tyson) Wilson, Jason Miles, Jeff (Gina) Miles, Jordie (Samantha) Robinson, Jill (Shawn) Gallant, and Corvyn Frick; great-grandchildren: Aisha, Jaron, and Talon Walter, Blake and Rydan Wilson, Alex Miles, Evan and Hannah Miles, and Maelle Gallant; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was predeceased by his son Tim Bolton; brother Gerald Bolton; sister Bonnie Underwood; step-mother Olive Bolton; and parents Richard and Myrtle Bolton.
A private service will be held Friday, May 29, 2020 at Oliver’s Funeral Home.
