Melville Laverne “Mel” Stewart
August 22, 1947 – January 7, 2020
Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital on Monday January 6th, 2020 in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of the late Jan Stewart (nee Moore). Loving father of Leslie and Vincent and step-father of Bonnie, Wayne, Bruce and the late Brenda. Dear grandfather of several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mel is survived by his mother Gladys Stewart and pre-deceased by his father Clifford Stewart. Brother of Bob (Marlyn), Dary (Kathy), Marlene (Leon), Carl, Eldon (Kim), Lois (Dale), Brenda (Dan), Terry (Pam), Donna (Wayne) and the late Art and Elaine (Hughey). Mel is survived by many nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by his special friend Lorraine Schutt and his furry friend Teddy. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at the Colborne Legion on Saturday May 9th, 2020 from 2-5 pm. An open mic jam session will take place at 3 pm. (bring your instruments). Mel wanted a party with good music. If desired donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
