No one held us so tight
Or made us feel so right
No one’s eyes shined so bright with love
As our Mom, who is now high above
On December 18, 2020, we lost the best wife and mom, Mavis Ann Otto (nee Jackman). Mavis battled dementia, eventually succumbing to COVID-19 — neither of which could diminish her bright smile or her quick wit. Mavis is survived by her husband of 63 years, Leonard, four children, Janice (Graham), Gordon, Bob, Cindy (Alastair), ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her mom (Florence), sisters (Shirley, Wilma, Betty and Julie), brother Charlie, and granddaughter Kristi. Mavis was an avid curler, baker, crafter and gardener. She was a strong, determined woman with a very generous heart. We sincerely thank Points West Living community in Red Deer for their years of kind care to this good person. At Mavis’s request, there will be no funeral. Plans for a Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2021. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta at www. alzheimer.ca or by mail at Allendale Professional Centre, #206, 10430-61 Avenue, Edmonton AB T6H 2J3; 780-488-2266. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040.
