MINNS, Mary Ursula – It is with sincere sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Ursula Minns of South Greenwood on August 15th, 2020 at the age of 89. Born in Toronto Ontario, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Ursula Teevin. Mary married her best friend and the love of her life, William Robert Minns, in 1952, and together they embarked on a truly remarkable military life with stops in Toronto ON, Trenton ON, Chatham NB, 2 Wing France, Chatham NB, Edmonton AB, Montreal QC, Cold Lake AB, 4 Wing Germany and their final posting and retirement in Greenwood NS. Mary was an avid gardener, was a friend to all animals, especially cats, a lifetime supporter of the Manchester United Football Club, and always followed the antics of Coronation Street. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband, Bill, in 2004 and is survived by sons Michael (Sherril), Patrick (Nancy) and grandson Christopher. Many friends have entered Mary’s life over the years and to this day include Paula & Jerry, Pat & Rock, Dara, Rose, Doug, Wanda, Raymond, Rufus, her very dear friend, Kal, and in memory, Xiao Xiao. Many thanks to Doctors McGuire, Ward, Dennyson and Smith and to the entire staff at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, including Sherry, Nathalie, Nicole, Bonnie, Jackie and Colleen. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service. If desired, donations may be made to the Kings County SPCA.
