1924-2020
Mary Catherine Steeves, 95, of Kiwanis Nursing
Home, Sus and formerly Petitcodiac passed away Wednesday, February
19, 2020 at the home.
Born in Cornhill she was the daughter of the late
Robert J. and Edith (Cameron) Moore. Mary was a member of the
Petitcodiac Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a
past member of the W.M.S. She was a member of the former
Petitcodiac Women’s Institute for over 50 years and had
volunteered with the Saint John Ambulance. Mary worked for
Stedman’s and later in the school cafeteria.
Mary is survived and sadly missed by her daughter,
Brenda (Bill) McLaughlin of Fredericton; sons, Wayne of Sus, and
Bruce of Halifax; grandchildren, David, Heather (Nick), MacKenzie
(Kevin), Matthew (Jane), Andrew (Elizabeth), Mary Beth (Matt), Julie
Ann (David), and Rhiannon (Fraser), and daughter-in-law, Carolyn of
Charlottetown; great grandchildren Aubrey, Ivy, Emily, James, and
Lachlan as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, and husband Robert (Bob), she
was predeceased by her son, James; sisters, Winnifred Taylor, Ethel
Perry and Edythe Hicks; and brothers, Raymond and Robert
Moore.
Resting at Armstrong’s Funeral Chapel,
33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac, from where visitation will be held on
Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Service will be at
the Petitcodiac Baptist Church, 121 Renfrew Street, on Sunday,
February 23 at 3 pm with Rev. David Woodworth and Rev. Gordon Cook
officiating. Interment in Maplewood Cemetery in the
spring.
If desired, memorials to World Hope International
(Hope House) would be appreciated.
