passing of Mary Delphine (Young) Fennell of MacLellan’s
Brook. “Debbie”, as she was
known, peacefully passed away the morning of May 21st, 2020 at the
Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow. Debbie was born in Sydney, Nova
Scotia on April 8th, 1951.
Debbie was the daughter of the late Aulden and Rita
(Campbell) Young. Debbie is survived by her
husband, Jack Fennell, MacLellan’s Brook; and her son, John
David Fennell, Topeka, KS; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Fennell; two
granddaughters, Rachel Nicole and Mary Allison Fennell, all of Topeka,

Debbie’s early childhood was spent in Cape Breton
and she and her family resided in the United States during her teen
years. Soon after her high school graduation, Debbie’s
family moved back to Nova Scotia where she met and married Jack
Fennell. Debbie and Jack were married for 49 years when she passed

various breeds of dogs over the years.
Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the
Aberdeen Hospital for their compassionate and thoughtful care for
Debbie during her stay there. A private family service will take place
at a later date with interment next to her mother, Rita, at the Holy
