Obituary
LANG, Marjorie Helen
It is with great sorrow that the family announces the peaceful passing of Marjorie Helen Lang (nee Murray) of Golden Acres in Wynyard, SK on May 3, 2020. Marjorie was born in Semans, SK on November 7, 1937 and lived on the farm north of town. She graduated from Semans High School and worked in Semans and Raymore. She married Siegfried Lang of Raymore on June 6, 1964. They remained on the property north of town where they farmed, until October 1996, when they moved to Raymore and eventually Wynyard in October 2015. Marjorie was Sieg’s true partner in life and helped with all aspects of mixed farming life. She enjoyed being member of the CWL and church choir, baking, gardening, sewing, and puzzles. She loved her hummingbirds and fed them daily once they appeared for the season. Her life was blessed with many wonderful friends with whom she enjoyed entertaining, playing cards and dancing with at Danceland. She always made time for church life and community. There were lots of family reunions celebrated at the farm, nephews to feed as visiting farm help, trips to BC, or trips to Last Mountain Lake. She travelled with Sieg to Europe, Peru, Mexico, Phoenix and Canada’s East Coast. She also made a trip to Brazil with Carol to see where Karen lived and to put her feet into the Ocean for the first time! Something she thought she would never get a chance to do. Marjorie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Siegfried; her 4 children: Ernie (Fran) and family, Carol (Dan) and family, Judy (Andrew) and Karen; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 brother Reg, 5 sisters-in-law Winnie, Rose, Dianna, Vi and Sherri; 1 step-sister Aurora and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Ida and William; 8 of her siblings, George, Stan, Bill, Gordon, Murial, Clifford, Glen and Rodney. She will be fondly remembered for her baking, smile, green thumb, being a hummingbird whisperer, and her quiet, kind nature. Marj’s family would love to thank the staff of Golden Acres for their compassion and care during her time under their care. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada (20 Eglinton Ave. W., 16th Floor, Toronto, ON M4R 1K8, alzheimer.ca/en/Home). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at a later date pending COVID-19 protocol. Arrangements in care of John Schachtel – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
