Marjorie’s Obituary
Taylor, Marjorie Beryl – 91, It is with great sadness that we, the family of Marjorie Taylor announce her passing on June 27th, 2020. She was born on January 14th, 1929 to the late Loran and Hazel (Bangay) Harlow of Sable River. She met and married the love of her life Captain Mitchell Taylor and they were blessed with 6 children. Although their time together was too brief, they built a life they loved. After Mitchell was lost at sea in 1961, Marjorie continued to raise their children in Rockland; Clark (Donna) Taylor, Mary (Vince) Whelpley, Roger (Marlene) Taylor, Linda (John) Chetwynd, Cheryl (Wally) LeMay, Margaret “Margie” (Ken) Brown. Marjorie’s family grew to include many grandchildren who she loved dearly; Christina, Steven, Victoria, Olivia; James, Dwayne; Mitchell, Melanie, Loran; Darcy, Jason, Ryan; Mark, Michael, Trevor; Monica. She will also be missed by 19 great-grandchildren and many dear friends that brought laughter and joy to her life. In addition to her parents, husband and five siblings, she was predeceased by her daughter Cheryl Lemay. Marjorie accomplished many things in her life, but nothing meant more to her than her family. Our Mom and Grammie is still very much here, even if we can’t see her. She’s the laughter that escapes when a recipe doesn’t turn out just right and the voice saying ‘don’t be so silly’ when you’re worrying about something you can’t control. She never ended a visit without saying she loved you and is the person who held you up when you couldn’t stand. She was a woman who never turned down an opportunity to make a memory and because of that her life and ours was overflowing with love. We are forever grateful for the doctors, nurses, and staff of Queens General Hospital and the VON Home Support Staff, who allowed our mother to continue living her life the way she wanted. In honour of her, we encourage you to take time to cuddle your grandchildren, create something with your own hands, and drive to your local ice cream place for a small cone. She’d say a marshmallow sundae is one of the best choices you can make. Mom built a beautiful life because she knew that the most important part of living was being present. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H.M Huskilson’s Funeral Home in Shelburne. Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will not be a funeral service; however, a graveside memorial will be held on July 18th, 2020 at 1:00 at Rockland Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to come and share their warmest memories. Memorial donations can be made to the Rockland Cemetery
