Death Notice
Marilyn Jeanne Wearring (nee Krueger) passed away peacefully on November 1st at Oak Crossing in London at the age of 90. Loving wife and partner of George (2013). Mother of Matthew (Kate), Colin (Diane), Andrew (Denise) and Joel (Elaine). Special grandma to Bronwyn, Bevan and Scott and aunt to Vicki and Jim. Whether climbing to the roof of the barn at age 5 or waterskiing at 75, Marilyn was always up for adventure. Her early years were spent helping her parents on the farm near Sebringville or playing softball with her friends. After Normal School in Stratford, Marilyn taught at #5 Downie before heading to UWO (B.A. Phys Ed 1954). Her teaching career continued in Lindsay, then in Saskatoon before being completed at South Secondary in London. Marilyn continued her contribution to education as a trustee and the chairperson of Middle County for a number of years. When many people might consider early retirement, Marilyn and her friend Joan embarked on writing two cookbooks – Muffins and Salads – which kept them busy for several years. In retirement, Marilyn and George enjoyed travelling, volunteering in the community, being active in the church, and visiting friends near and far. She enjoyed visits from neighbours, relatives and friends from New St. James Presbyterian Church, UWO, and curling in her later years. A special thank you to Dr. McNair and the dedicated, hard-working and good-natured staff at Oak Crossing Norway Spruce. We will forever miss her spark, her smile, and her spirit. Visitation by appointment at Harris Funeral Home on Saturday November 14 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. RSVP at 519-433-7253. In Marilyn’s memory, donations to New St. James Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Marilyn Wearring 2020..
