Marie “Agnes” Thibault
January 24, 1934 – August 05, 2020
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved “Mame”, Agnes Thibault at the age of 86 on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Born in Saulnierville Station, she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Rita (Smith) Saulnier.
Agnes is survived by her daughters, Linda (Brian) German, St. Alphonse; Maxine Thibault (Brian “Phil”), Saulnierville; Phoebe (Franklin) Thibault-Sherrard, Kitchener, Ontario; siblings, Cecile Robicheau, Meteghan; Maria Doucet, Saulnierville Station; Ulysse (Aline) Saulnier, Saulnierville Station; sister-in-law, Edna Saulnier, Comeauville; grandchildren, Lisa German, Meteghan River; Nicole German, Digby; Dwayne Thibault (Kim Deveau), Meteghan River; Kevin (Kayla) Thibault, Charlottetown, P.E.I; great-grandchildren, Haley Comeau, Saulnierville; Cayden Thibault, Charlottetown, P.E.I; Leland Thibault, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; Aaron Thibault, Meteghan; Ashley Thibault, Yarmouth, and Derick Deveau, also of Yarmouth; great great-grandchildren, Oaklyn Hubbard, Ronan Hill, Brooklyn Thibault, Gabrielle Thibault and Dexter Deveau; many nieces and nephews. She also had a special bond with her sister Maria’s daughters, Sandra, Susan and Darlene, and with her husband Aaron Thibault’s family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Aaron; son, Brian; siblings, Benoit Saulnier, Ann McCauley, Alfred Saulnier, Antoine Saulnier, Yvette Theriault and Louise Saulnier.
Agnes had many friends and was very creative and involved in many charitable organizations, senior groups, too many to mention. She helped many people in many ways throughout her lifetime. In short, she was an angel on earth. She loved everyone and often said “la vie est belle”. She will be tremendously missed.
Many thanks to the amazing staff of Salon Rita of La Villa Acadienne and of Foyer Celeste (previous nursing home) for all the loving care provided to our dearly loved “Mame” and to us. Thank you also to Dr. Chandler and the staff of Meteghan Funeral Home.
Cremation has taken place. Due to the provincial restrictions put in place in light of the Covid-19 Pandemic, a private funeral mass will be held in Église Sacré-Coeur, Saulnierville, with burial to follow in Stella Maris Cemetery, Meteghan Centre.
Agnes donated to many charities, so in her honour, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
