VARAO, Maria Teresa
Passed away peacefully at Freeport-Grand River Hospital on Sunday, May
17, 2020 at the age of 82, knowing the love of her family and friends.
The beloved wife of Guilherme. Loving mother to Maria Isabel (Liz)
Racco (Cosimo). Dearly loved Vavo to Stefano Racco (Kara) and
Christina Coughlan (Cian), and a most special Vis-Avo to Hunter and
Cecelia Racco and Leo Coughlan. Survived by brother Antonio Sapateiro
and predeceased by brother Manuel Soares. She will also be remembered
fondly by her many nieces and nephews. Teresa immigrated to Canada
from Santa Cruz Logoa, Sao Miguel, Azores in 1963 and first lived in
Waterford, Ontario, before settling in Cambridge. Teresa will be
dearly missed by her family and friends and will forever be remembered
as someone who loved and cherished her family. As expressions of
sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a Memorial Mass will take place at a
later date. Arrangements entrusted to Corbett Funeral Home,
