It is with heavy hearts that the family of Margaret Patricia
(Patsy) Boyle announce her peaceful passing on March 16, 2020, in
Pictou, Nova Scotia. Originally from Caledonia Mills, Antigonish
County, Patsy resided at the Shiretown Nursing Home where she moved
with her parents, Colin and Catherine, in 1988.
Patsy was born with Down Syndrome and lived her whole life
with her loving parents until their passing. At 79 years old, she
enjoyed a full life revelling in music and singing and was known for
her incredible spoon-playing. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, and
arts and crafts over the years. Patsy will be fondly remembered for
her love of holiday celebrations – especially her birthday
and Christmas (always believing in Santa Claus). We are all fortunate
to have had our lives touched by this special person.
Patsy is survived by her sisters, Christine Flynn,
Antigonish; Jean (Wayne) Cole, Liverpool; Mary (Chris) MacDonald,
Toronto; and brothers, Dan J., Antigonish, and George (Shirley),
Antigonish; sister-in-law, Anne Marie Bowman; many nieces and nephews,
and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Colin and Catherine;
sister, Ann; brothers Angus and William; brothers in law, Greg Flynn
and Ron Buckley, and sister-in-law, Carol Boyle.
The family extends their deepest appreciation to the staff
and her special friends of Shiretown Nursing Home for the exceptional
care and attention provided to Patsy throughout her 32 year
residency.
In consideration of the current restrictions, a family
funeral and burial service will take place at a later date. Donations
in her memory can be made L’Arche in Antigonish or a charity
