Obituary of Marcel de Wit
It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of a resident of Ridgetown, Marcel de Wit who passed away at home with family by his side on June 1, 2020 at the age to 72.
Marcel was born in Marknesse, Holland to the late Leonardus and Mathilde (de Nijs) de Wit.
Beloved husband of 45 years to Attie de Wit of Ridgetown.
Loving dad to Marc de Wit and Chelsea Paradis of Ottawa, Loes and Mike Cofell of Ayr, and Kristal and Greg Vandenberg of Petrolia.
Cherished Opa to Sullivan, Finlay, Tyce, Mathis, Elliot, Grace, Madeleine, Bron and Gwen.
Son in law to Doekle and the late Hennie Dijstra.
Dear brother to Tineke and Paul Korting, Jan and Gerry de Wit, Marie-Jose and Karel Steyaert, the late Joke de Wit (2018), Henk and Joanne de Wit, Annemieke and Jan Loeters, Marijke de Wit and Rene Siemensma, Yvonne and Herman VanBon and Leo de Wit and Anneke Schaeken.
Brother in law to Rein and Femmie Dijkstra.
Sadly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
In keeping with Marcel’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service and interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bayshore HealthCare and VON Chatham-Kent, would be appreciated.
