Malcolm Edward Mercer 2020

Malcolm Edward Mercer
July 07, 1951 – August 05, 2020

With loving memories, we celebrate the life of an extraordinary husband, father, and grandfather who passed peacefully away in the comfort of his own home after a short illness on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at the age of 69 years.
Beloved husband of 45 years to Alethia Mercer (nee Hennessey). Cherished father of David (Lori) and Michelle (Mark), and proud poppy to his precious granddaughter Maeve. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his brother Bill (Mary) Mercer, and special cousin Dodge (Heather) Evans, as well as a close circle of family and friends. Predeceased and reunited in Heaven with his loved ones from the Mercer, Hennessey and O’Neill families. Malcolm lived a private life devoted to his family who were his heart and joy, and dedicated his 33-year career as a Welder with Technical Services at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He was known for his mild-mannered and patient disposition, and for the kindness, respect, and warmth he extended to all.
Sincerest gratitude to family and friends who reached out to offer their love and support, and to the Community Health Nurses, Palliative Care doctors and staff, and Angels of Hope Homecare for their compassion, care, and kindness.
Cremation has already taken place. Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, St. John’s on Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions a private Funeral Service will take place.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Malcolm Edward Mercer 2020..
