It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert John MacDonald on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney.
Born on October 3, 1961 in Sydney, Robert was the son of the late Peter and Christine (Wells) MacDonald.
Robert leaves behind to mourn, his daughters, Crystal (Lyle) and Sheryl (Kevin); grandchild, Paisley Hardy; the mother of his children, Elizabeth Blackie; brothers, Peter, Halifax and Clyde (Alison), Sydney; sisters, Wanda (Bryden) MacDonald, Sydney River, Denise (Wendell) Dunn, Prime Brook and Debbie White, Sydney; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for the late Robert MacDonald will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Road (entrance on Church Street), Whitney Pier. Funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. in St. Alban’s Anglican Church, Whitney Pier, with Rev. Brenda Drake officiating.
Private family interment will take place in Hardwood Hill Cemetery in the spring.
Donations in memory of Robert may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of the Pier Community Funeral Home.
