Lynette’s Obituary
Passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on October 23, 2020. Lynette was 73 years of age. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Her lighthearted humor was always present at gatherings. She is survived by her spouse David Monaghan (son Lee and daughter Tanya), her daughter Tina Weicker (Dave), brother Paul Harrison (Karen), Paul’s sons Adam (Samantha & Jack) and Ryan (Heather), nieces Brooke and Erika Harrison and stepson Gary Jasper. She is predeceased by her sister Maxine Allen, brother Vaughn Harrison and stepdaughter Linda McComb.
Lynette’s working career spanned over 5 decades. She spent many years at The Marco Corporation, McCormick’s Florists, Walker Press and Canada Post. She loved all the holidays the calendar had to offer. Whether it was Halloween, Christmas or Canada Day, it didn’t matter. She had an outfit to celebrate it and usually some funny accessories and a theme cake! Sunday mornings were all about Coronation Street for her and Dave, usually followed up by a phone call to Tina to see if she just saw the latest episode. Her knitting was something to be admired. She could watch a TV show, carry on a conversation and knit a sweater all at the same time.
Above all else, food was her favorite pass time: her purse, desk drawer, car seat anywhere it could be stashed, she’d have some. Even in her final days when eating was becoming less interesting, she lit up when asked if she wanted some cotton candy or CHEEZIES.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the DWAYNE D. BUDGELL Funeral Home. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and the subsequent restrictions on gathering, a Private Graveside Service will be held at the Paris Cemetery. In Lynette’s memory, donations to either Danes in Distress (www.danesindistress.com) or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29 would be appreciated by the family.
