Louise Marie Madeleine Doucet

DOUCET, Louise – It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, Louise Marie Madeleine (Belliveau) Doucet, age 87 on Saturday, July 4, 2020 in Digby General Hospital with her daughters at her side.
She was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Azelle (Comeau) Belliveau.
Louise was born December 29, 1932 in Belliveau Cove, NS. She graduated as an RN from Hopital Saint-Francois d’Assise which was affiliated to Université Laval in Quebec City. She married the love of her life, Dr. Felix Doucet, on June 15, 1957, settled in Weymouth where they raised five children. She was a part of La Fanfare at Université Sainte-Anne for eight years. She was a member of the Red Hatters and enjoyed many social events with her group. The joys of her life were gatherings with her family for dinners and holidays, shopping trips, many meals at the Goodwin Hotel, trips to the South Shore to visit her sister Julie, numerous bus tours, winters in Florida with family and friends, celebrations of the Acadian Festival on her childhood veranda and watching the kites fly in Belliveau Cove. She spent the last four years living with Celena and Larry Stone where they loved her like one of her own. She enjoyed many visits from family and friends and truly called it home.
She is survived by sons, Jacques, Michel (Christina), Marc (Sherry); daughters, Suzanne (Tom) MacLean and Josette (David) King; grandchildren, Ashley, Jason, Chad, Jean Pierre, Julien, Louise, and Zoe; great grandchildren, Sophia, Gunner, Augustus; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by husband, Felix Doucet; sister, Rose Mary; brother, Benjamin.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff and caregivers of Yarmouth Regional Hospital and Digby General Hospital. A special thanks to the nurses and staff on the Digby General Hospital Medical Floor for their compassion and tender loving care they gave our mom to the very end.
She is at peace now and reunited with the love of her life.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Meteghan Funeral Home. Due to COVID-19 provincial restrictions, a private graveside service will be held. Church funeral service to be announced on a later date.
