Lolamae Lubiniecki 2020

Lolamae Lubiniecki
In Loving Memory
LUBINIECKI – Lolamae passed away at home on Thursday, April 9th, with zero social distancing, as her husband Daryl and children were by her side. Lolamae was a tough nut, and a true rockstar during the past 7 months. She pulled through a successful Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm surgery on October 2nd, 2019 – one day after her 53rdwedding anniversary supper date.
In November, Lolamae was told she had an aggressive cancer that had already spread to bone. After a lengthy stay in hospital, she was released to fight the fight at home with her family. Over the past 4 months, she remained true to her extraordinary, one of a kind, personality. All who knew, and loved her, embraced this unique quality.
Lolamae grew up on the family farm in Renown with her mom and 3 brothers; Bert, Glen, and Milton. After grade 12, she moved to Saskatoon to attend business college, and then landed her first job at CKOM in the Traffic Division. She met her husband, Daryl, through a mutual friend when they were in the Rendevouz café in Saskatoon. Daryl had seen Lolamae many times there during her coffee breaks, and sent his friend over to ask her if she’d go on a date with him. They were married October 1st, 1966, and the honeymoon was a trip to Knoxville where Daryl played one season of hockey with the Knights.
Once back in Saskatoon, mom had her first child, Jay, in 1969, and Raegan arrived in 1971. Lolamae went back to work at CKOM for a brief period, but her passion for more than 2 decades was volunteering with the Abilities Council Life Enrichment Program. She advocated, loved, and cared for her program family, fiercly. She worked for William’s Catering for a number of years, and had unforgettable encounters with many celebrities. More important than star encounters, were the friendships she made through this chapter in her life.
Lolamae was one of a kind. Her heartfelt love for family and friends will carry on. The phrases she used with swears thrown in like common dictionary words, will bring smiles to everyone, always. As much as she cared for and loved her family and friends, she was loved deeply in return.
Lolamae was predeceased by her father, Roy Servis, mother, Euphemia Servis, brothers Glen and Milton, niece, McKenzie, brothers in law Bernie and Kevin Lubiniecki, nephew, Seamus.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Daryl, son Jay John, daughter Raegan Lyn (Dale), grandsons Joshua and Elliot, grand daughter Eden, brother Bert Servis (Terry), sister in law Shirley Servis, sister in law Eva Topott (Bill), brother and sister in law Del and JoAnn Lubiniecki, sisters in law Brenda and Aileen Lubiniecki, Susan Geortz (Les), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Thank you to the health care groups during these past few months, and extreme gratitude to Palliative Nurse Carolyn, and Family Physician, Dr. L Stewart and her entire office. Lolamae will be deeply missed by her family. We are so proud of her courage and strength during her uphill battle these past months. Amidst tears, talks, and her pain meds, we enjoyed spending so much time with her, sharing stories, laughs, and love. Rest in Peace mom. A celebration of Lolamae’s life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Cancer Society.
