Obituary
KNIGHT, Lillian Evelyn (nee Hardy) Peacefully passed away on Tuesday October 13th, 2020 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Jack Knight (1992). Daughter of the late Frank and Violet Hardy of Lucan. Dear sister to Muriel Culbert, Dorothy Revington, and Harry Hardy. Devoted mother of Carol Knight, and mother-in-law to Graham Henderson. Dedicated grandmother to Eryn MacKinnon (Steven), and Christopher Henderson (Melissa). Proud great grandma to Cate MacKinnon, and Charlotte Henderson. Predeceased by her son Donnie, and daughter Lynne Henderson (2017). Survived by her many nieces and nephews. The contributions that Lillian made throughout her life consisted of her extensive service to the Chalmers United Church, Kintore where she dedicated her life for over 69 years and will never be forgotten. Lillian was the founder and organizer of the “Over 50’s Club” and ran it for over 26 years. As well, she was awarded the Volunteer Award from the Ontario Government for volunteering her time at the Grand Theatre for over 25 years. Her extensive service to many organizations has left an indelible mark. Lillian believed in the adage: OLD AGE IS INEVITABLE, GETTING OLD IS OPTIONAL. She will be remembered for her indominable spirit and zest for life and will be missed by all those who loved her. A big thank you to all the people who have been helping out at the farm and sharing your support. A celebration honouring Lillian’s life will be held at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home in Thamesford. The service is by invitation only due to Covid restrictions. Lillian will be interred at the Kintore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Chalmers United Church Kintore, and Operation Smile would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home (519-285-2427).
