Obituary
Lillian Allen McLenaghan
April 29, 1920 – November 4, 2020
Lillian Allen McLenaghan (Campbell), wife of the late Raymond F. McLenaghan of Napan, peacefully passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the age of 100 surrounded by family.
Born in Chipman, NB on April 29, 1920 she was the chosen daughter of the late Charles and Hannah (Perley) Campbell. “Lily” (as she loved to be called) arrived in Napan at the tender age of three, following the death of her mother Mary. Lily was adopted by a caring and devoted Christian family who set the example for Lillian, who would herself become a mother who was always there for her family. She was a loving Homemaker who loved her family more than life itself and her magic was making Home a place we wanted to be.
She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church, Life Member of the U.C.W, Sunday School Teacher for many years and also a member of the Branch #3 Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was kind and giving and always put others before herself. A “Christian Solider” and “God’s Helper” who often told people she didn’t even know “I Love You”. We take such inspiration in her faith and her strength.
Lillian is survived by her two daughters: Joan Savoy (Brian) and Bonnie Ramey (Dave) all of Miramichi; one son, Robert McLenaghan (Lottie) of Napan; ten grandchildren: Andrea, Rick, Jeff, Natalie, Kimberly, Christopher, Stacey, Mary L., Kelsey and Amanda; eleven great-grandchildren: Dereck, Austin, Kennedy, Melissa, Dustin, Kaelan, Robert, Jonathan, Jace, Jove and Alexis; one niece, Gale Campbell. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Raymond McLenaghan; two sons: Allen and Brian McLenaghan; two daughters: Karen Dunn and Mary McLenaghan; son-in-law, Richard McKnight; one brother, Douglas Campbell; two sisters: Mary Edna Legasse, and Luella Olive Boyd.
A PRIVATE visitation will be held on November 9th, 2020 at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi with funeral service to follow. Interment will be held in the Black River Community Cemetery, Black River Bridge, NB.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Scleroderma Canada, Canadian Mental Health Association, Lupus Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
