Obituary
The family of Leonard Sproul wish to announce his peaceful passing which occurred on April 26, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Saint John, April 30, 1949 to the late Ronald and Gladys (Danford) Sproul.
Len had worked as a school bus driver and a car salesman but spent most of his life as a self-employed auto mechanic. He was a respected and reputable owner of many service centers throughout his career. Len was known for his generosity and gregarious personality.
He loved hunting, fishing and spending time at the camp. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He will be remembered as a family man cherishing every moment he spent with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife Debbie (Herrington), his children; Melissa London (Chris), Jason (Lana), and James (Belinda), mother-in-law Doris Herrington, brothers; Fred (Valerie), Albert, Roy (Brenda), Doug, John (Colleen), Murray (Carla) and Paul (Mindy), sisters; Margaret Atkinson, Mary Nicol (Don), Betty Caswell (Jack), Janet Kilpatrick (Ron) and Jane Garnett, sister-in-law Sue (Steve) Ekstrom, brother-in-law Larry (Vicky) Herrington, sister-in-law Marie Sproul, grandchildren; Emily, Meghan, Matthew, Luke, Elijah, Tommy, Kenny, Sarah, Stevi, Samantha, Aidan and Natalie, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Francis, sisters; Dorothy (Phil) Myles and Jean (Brian) Harris, brother-in-law Doug Atkinson and his sister-in-law Deena Sproul.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424), and at his request there will not be visitation. Following cremation, a private family service will be held. Remembrances to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation – Palliative Care Unit or the Sus Salvation Army Church would be appreciated.
