Obituary of Leah Mildred House
It is with broken hearts that the family of Leah HOUSE announces her sudden passing at the Kingsway Living Retirement Centre in Springdale, on Saturday April 11, 2020 in her 81st year. She leaves to mourn, with loving memories: daughter: Cathy (Darrin), Valerie (Sterling); son Michael (Rhonda); grandchildren: Danielle, Chantelle (Trevor), Jessica, Jenelle, Kelsey and Kolby; special great grandchild Zoey; sister Sis, and brother Clayton (Stella); many nieces, nephews, family and a large circle of friends. She was predeceased by her loving partner Nish, parents Ulric & Alice Plowman; sisters: Florence, Lillian, and Vivian; brothers: Roger, Kevin, Augustus, Otto, Felix, Romeo and Jim.
The family will hold a private viewing at Fillatre’s Funeral Home in Port au Choix and interment at Sandy Cove Interfaith Cemetery, Port Saunders with Father Raj officiating. Family and friends may leave messages of condolence on this website. In memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
Special thanks to the staff at Kingsway Living Retirement Home for the love and care shown to Leah during her stay there and Dr Todd Young for his continuous compassion.

Leah lived a great life full of adventure. She left home at the age of sixteen to work as a nurse. She lived in Goose Bay, Springdale, Jackson’s Arm and Port au Choix. She always worked hard at various jobs to ensure her family was taken care of. She loved gardening, cooking, baking and having a scuff as well as playing Bingo. She was well known for her bread. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
