Obituary of Léa Allard-Méthot (English Obituary)
It is with great sadness the family of Léa Allard-Méthot, wife of Alexandre Méthot, of Rothesay, NB, announce her passing after a lenghty illness on Monday, September 14, 2020, at Kings Way Care Centre.
Born on August 24, 1934, in Eel River Crossing, NB. She was a daughter of the late Gaspard and Rose Anna (Savoie) Allard.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son Rino (Manon Savoie) of Rothesay, three grandchildren; Jacob, Madeline, and Emma, and one sister; Éliza Allard of Charlo. She was predeceased by her brothers, Donat Bourdreau and René, and two sisters; Albertine and Maguerite.
Léa embraced two careers, first as a Medical Technologist, which she practiced mainly at Dalhousie. Her skill and dedication were known to all. After starting her family, she began teaching. This gave her the opportunity to spend more time with her son Rino, whom she was very proud. For several years, Léa was associated with Notre Dame of the Sacred Heart. Every week she would devote an afternoon to the telephone work listening prayer. Léa, also spent several years as a nun with the Daughters of Jesus, to whom she still remained in touch. In her spare time, she was a creative and driven person. Léa was known for her seamstress skills and could take the simplest fabric and turn it into something beautiful. Lea enjoyed making cards for her friends and family, who considered them masterpieces. She was a generous soul, who would open her kitchen to anyone lucky enough to try her cooking.
Léa will be missed. We believe that she is not absent, but quite simply present elsewhere and is watching over us. We are assured that the Lord, has already welcomed her into his house.
Under the circumstances of the pandemic, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road (849-2119). Interment will take place at Eel River Crossing Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Kings Way Care Centre.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Lea
