Obituary
Laura Elizabeth Rempel of Calgary, AB passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at the age of 92 years at AgeCare Sagewood in Strathmore, AB. Her passing was not COVID related.
Laura is lovingly remembered by her sons, Clyde (Nancy), Rod and Rob; her son-in-law Brett; grandchildren Jeremy, Sara, Shane, Kendra, Jessica and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Wade and Martha Dowling; her brothers Keith, Malcolm & Stan and recently her daughter, Wendy Hobbs.
Laura was born in Bassano, AB and spent her life in Calgary. After raising her family, she rejoined the work force full time, eventually retiring from Petro-Canada. The computer skills she gained there provided her with endless hours of post retirement entertainment, whether playing games or keeping abreast of current affairs and staying in touch with friends and family. Over the years, she enjoyed many trips to Vegas, her favorite destination. Coffee dates with retirement friends at Second Cup were a source of valued social visits and much missed once she as no longer able to drive.
Laura’s family would like to thank the amazing staff at Sagewood for the compassionate and dedicated care they provided to her during her stay with them.
