KING Myrna Jean December 15 2020 avis de deces

Myrna Jean King (nee McPhee) passed away peacefully on December 15, 2020.
She is survived by her daughters Cheryl McEwan, and Donna King-Dobler, and by her grandchildren Sarah (Cole), Brian, Catherine (Alex), and Laura. She was predeceased by her husband Tom, her son Daryl, her parents Herb and Mossaline McPhee, and her brother Leonard.
Myrna was born in Vermilion, Alberta on May 6, 1942. She was the second of four children who were raised on two farms surrounded by a large extended family. Her role was to help her mother with gardening, meal preparation and taking care of her sibling. She loved the farm and the life she had there. She happily helped her Mom with the many chores associated with the indoor and homestead part of farming, while secretly longing to drive the tractors, combines and trucks.
She was a thoughtful, bright, caring and helpful child. Her elementary school life included being taught by her mother at the one-room schoolhouse near her family farm. For high school, Myrna moved to the town of Vermilion and lived with her beloved aunt and uncle. She was introduced to Tom by her cousin, Keith. After completing high school, Myrna attended nursing school and married Tom in October of 1964.
The couple settled in Edmonton where Myrna worked as a dental hygienist. Shortly after the couple had their first daughter Cheryl, they moved to Leduc, where Donna and Daryl were born. Myrna stayed home to care for the kids until Daryl was old enough to start school full time. Myrna then applied for a job at the ICG gas company where she worked for the next twenty-seven years. She enjoyed the Land Department work the most. She was reliable, dependable, and always a hard worker. She was very proud of the work that she did.
Myrna’s greatest love was always for her family. She enjoyed camping, various card and board games, reading, doing yard work, cross stitch, puzzles, traveling, and watching romantic movies. Home was the best place that she had ever been.
Myrna was first diagnosed with cancer in the fall of 1986 shortly after the death of her son Daryl. She made it through her first battle with cancer and was very healthy until the fall of 2019 when she was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. We are all grateful for the time that we had with her. She was a beautiful human being who had a kind heart and a gentle manner.
Myrna will be dearly missed by all of those who loved her. She was a gem and our memories of her will always be treasured. With all our love, the King family.
A celebration of life will be held for Myrna in the Spring.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of KING Myrna Jean December 15 2020..
