Kathy Frances (MacNeil) Bunyan
1958-2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful
passing of Kathy Frances (MacNeil) Bunyan in the Port Hawkesbury
Nursing Home on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Born February
28, 1958, Kathy was the daughter of the late Francis A MacNeil and
Isabel C. (MacIntyre) MacNeil.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, John
Bunyan of Troy; sons, Paul (Sara), Neil (Megan), daughter, Jackie
(Cody) and two adorable grandchildren, Sam and Claire. Also
left to mourn her passing are sisters, Bernadette MacNeil, Barbara
MacKinnon (Harvey), Liz Johnston (Brian), Viola MacLeod (Gillis),
brothers, Carl MacNeil (Cathy), Barry MacNeil (Carol), sisters in law
Deborah Graham (Tommy), Tammy Delorey (Bob), Frances Chambers and
brother-in-law, Bill Bunyan. Kathy was loved and adored by
her nieces and nephews and will be missed by aunts, uncles and many
special cousins, friends and neighbors.
Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Isabel Mac
Neil; brother, John Francis, in infancy; brother, Gary MacDonald and
her daughter, Carly, with whom a promise of reunion brings us great
comfort. Kathy will always be remembered for her great love of family,
natural radiance, acceptance of everyone, free spirited sense of
adventure, her kindness and generosity. Kathy loved to travel with
John and the kids, she was the ultimate sports Mom and inspired us all
with her gardening talents.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Staff at the
Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home for their care and
compassion.
In keeping with Covid-19 guidelines, all
attendees will be asked to provide their names and telephone numbers
upon arrival at the funeral home and the church. Social
distancing protocols are to be followed and masks are
mandatory.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday in Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m.
Wednesday from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Creignish with
Father Allan MacMillan officiating. Burial will follow in the parish
