1939-2020
Josephine Theresa (Sweeney) Sheppard of Nackawic, NB, age 81,
passed away peacefully on October 8, 2020, at Carleton Manor Nursing
Home, Woodstock, NB. Born at Grand Falls, Newfoundland on April 14,
1939, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Murphy)
Sweeney.
Josephine was a seamstress, housewife and loving mother and
grandmother. She was active in her church and a number of
charitable organizations. She also loved painting and
gardening.
Josephine is predeceased by her husband, Gordon Cyril
Sheppard; her son, Anthony (Tony) Sheppard, and, son-in-law, Andrew
Tapley. Also brother James Sweeney and sisters, Dorothy
Reinhart, Patricia Alyward, and Alice Harris.
She is survived by daughter, Cathy Tapley (Woodstock, NB);
son, Sean (Tracey) Sheppard, Edmonton, AB; three sisters, Ellen
(Gerard) Foley, Kentville, NS; Mary (Gerry) Moores, St.
John’s, NL; Pauline Rockwood, Halifax, NS; and, one brother,
John (Shirley) Sweeney, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; six grandchildren,
Clinton, Melissa, Samantha, James, Adam and Alexander; and, two
great-grandchildren, Noah and Amelia.
Cremation has already taken place with interment set for 11
am, Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery,
Nackawic, NB. Anyone wishing to attend are
welcomed. (Social distancing protocols will be in
place).
Anyone wanting to make a donation in Josephine’s
memory can do so to the Alzheimer’s Society.
