SCHWARTZ, Joe – Passed away May 27th, 2020 at almost 90 years old. Beloved husband for 59 years to Rosalind, adored father and father-in- law of Lisa and Chaim, Rona and Bradley, and Sari and Mark. Proud grandfather of Akiva, Hillel, Eitan, Ilana, Adam, Zoey and Rachel. Brother and brother-in-law to Dorothy and Max, Ruthie and Sam, and Moe and Ellen. Respected Uncle Joe to his nieces and nephews and fondly remembered by many long-time friends.
Joe was born in Montreal, June 30th, 1930 to Meir and Gittel Schwartz. He earned a degree as a chartered accountant and moved to Toronto with his family. He found new friends and became active in several organizations. He married Roz in 1961 and together they had three daughters and he lived a happy and successful life with his “girls”. He was passionate about Yiddishkeit and loved to study anything related to Judaism. He was active in Beth Tikvah synagogue for many years and took on many different leadership roles. He had a passion for life and loved music, opera, dancing, golf, travelling and good scotch.
Joe was a gentleman and a gentle man.
