Joann Florence Schwartz, beloved wife of the late Helmer Schwartz, passed away at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at the age of 80 years. Left to cherish Joann’s memory are her children, Kalvin Schwartz, Michael Schwartz, Melanie (Travis) Reimer and Steven (Angelica) Schwartz; grandchildren, Tanner (Abby) Reimer (and their children, Maci and Gemma), Kaitlin (Ryan) Glass, Mateja Schwartz and Hudson Schwartz as well as her siblings, Ralph (Vivian) Wessner, Don (Fay) Wessner, Wayne (Loretta) Wessner and Clinton (Joy) Wessner. She was predeceased by her husband, Helmer and her parents, Emil and Leona. Joann was born on January 17, 1940, on the family farm south of Swift Current. The family would like to say a special thank you to St. Joseph’s Home for the care and dignity they provided to Joann in her last days. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the service will be by invitation only. The celebration of Joann’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Roland Schlenker officiating. The Funeral Service will be live-streamed on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, starting at 2:00 p.m. (MST).
