Obituary
Jeffrey Rowan Maxwell Jan.31, 1989 – Nov. 29, 2020
It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the death of Jeffrey Rowan Maxwell, Age 31, of Dalhousie, NB, which occurred on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at 11:11 a.m. Jeff passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy and difficult journey with diabetes and dialysis. He was surrounded by his close-knit and loving family. He was born in Saint John, N.B. and was the eldest son of Kimberley Maxwell Lapointe and the late Michael Kenneth Maxwell. He leaves to mourn his mother, his two brothers Joe and Jonny, stepfather Elden Lapointe, two stepbrothers Troy and Marcus Lapointe. He will also be sadly missed by his Grandmother Nikki Delaney (Dalhousie) and Grandmother Blanche Maxwell (Saint John), many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and his two cats (Avatar & Cooper).
Jeff graduated as a PSW2. He worked for Tommy Hilfiger, Best Western Hotel, Tim Hortons, Home Hardware (Bell), SNC Lavalin Operations & Maintenance – CSC Call Centre, Osprey Convenience and Truck Stop (Gaming) where he held various bilingual positions and made many lifetime friends. He enjoyed dancing, playing pool, boating, fishing, Texas Hold’em, Karaoke and chilling with Netflix and will always be remembered as our, “Hot Tub King.” He was an avid gamer and collector of all Nintendo systems. He was a social butterfly and the life of a party wherever he went. Jeff had a dry sense of humour which many can attest to therefore, never a dull moment.
Jeff was always so heartened by the outpouring of love he received from family & friends. He suffered more than his fair share in his short 31 years, however, we take solace in that his suffering is finally over. His young life had so many tough turns but he always persevered. He won the hearts of many with his friendly and caring people personality and heart of gold. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Despite all the pain and sickness he went through, he never much complained. Jeff felt he had no quality of life due to recent circumstances and clinical efforts to conquer all the underlying issues that stemmed from his Diabetes. His health deteriorated even more, and perseverance was at a low at which time he courageously decided he wanted to come home for his final days without dialysis. His wishes were to be empowered and with dignity, surrounded by love with his family and the chance to say his last goodbye. It was devastating. Our hearts are broken, although, we know now he is pain free and at peace, joined with his dad.
Due to the pandemic, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date, to be announced in the Summer. Arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association or S.P.C.A.
