James Darrell (Jay) Laidlaw

We, the family of James (Jay) Laidlaw heartbrokenly announce his sudden passing in his home on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at the age of 53.
Jay was an amazing father, son, brother, uncle, partner and friend. Jay loved everything outdoors. You could always see him walking, often wearing his signature sunglasses and leather jacket. He was hard-working and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was well known to be “the best pizza cook” in town. Jay loved hockey, and was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan. He also loved a good movie. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Jay is survived by his father James (Jim) Laidlaw, his only daughter and light of his life, Miranda (Natasha) Laidlaw, common law wife and best friend, Joanne McKee, brothers Don and Billy Laidlaw, his only sister Sheila Laidlaw (Steven), and several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.
Jay was predeceased by his mother Sheila Laidlaw, brothers Terry and Paul Laidlaw, grandparents Ernie and Mary Laidlaw, Bernie and James Evans, and several aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jay’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words and support through this difficult time.
