Passed away, peacefully surrounded by her family, after a long hard fight with cancer, at her late Hickory Hills residence on May 8th, 2020, Janet (Kita) Kennedy, at the age of 72. Janet was born in Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A., to the late John and Florence Kita. Loving wife to Tom Kennedy for 54 wonderful years. Janet leaves behind two caring sons Todd Kennedy, of Eden and his daughter Ashley and Tom Kennedy Jr., of Tillsonburg. Also survived by her uncle Frank Varkoly, of Florida and by many cousins in the U.S.A. Janet was employed with Livingston’s Industries for 10 years, Off Broadway Video for 15 years and she finished her career with 15 years of service at Walmart, Tillsonburg. Janet was a true animal and bird lover. She was a person that deeply loved her family and she will be dearly missed.
In keeping with Janet’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life to remember Janet will be announced later, under the guidance of Mike and Tina Dias. Memorial donations to the “Canadian Cancer Society” would be gratefully acknowledged by the Kennedy family and can be made through the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc., 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg (519-842-4238), entrusted with all arrangements.
