On October 5 2020 in her home, Janet Catherine Roy Van der Weide passed away suddenly surrounded by her beloved cats Shadow and Pepper.
Janet was the Daughter of the late Arthur Roy and Amber Christie Cumming Roy. Beloved sister to Arthur Roy jr. and his wife Vera, Cora Herwich and husband David, Dorothy Emino and husband Winifred (Fred), her late sister Christine MacDonnell, her sister Elizabeth Findlay, brother John Garlough and brother of late Paul Kaluza.
She is survived by her children John, Harm and Karen and William the Van der Weide boys and her two daughters Johna Lee Widmann and Rachel and Steven Howe. As well as her grand children Cassandra Church, Alexander Howe, Colin Howe, Amanda Widmann, Sarah Widmann, Kody Phillips, Vanessa Stenwick, John Van der Weide, William Van der Weide. Her great Grand children Nevah, Remington, Rain, Abel, Madison, Payton, Henry, Elizabeth and Hailey. Great great grandson Joshua.
Janet had a love of animals of all kinds because of their loyal companionship and gardening where she found peace in growing beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed writing short stories and painting the various pictures in her home.
A private graveside service will be held at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Spencerville. Arrangements are entrusted to the Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home in Cardinal.
