August 29, 1931 – September 16, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Jim Duncan announces his peaceful passing at City Hospital on September 16, 2020 at the age of 89. Jim was predeceased by his beloved mother and father, Amelia and Patrick, his siblings, Ted Duncan and Betty Neilson, their spouses Violet Duncan and Jim Neilson, and his brother-in-law, Al Davidson.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family and dear friends. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elvira, who he loved so much;, his children Karen, Sandra, Patrick, Michael (Shelley) and Andrea (Paul Whitenect); and his grandchildren Neil and Ian Duncan, and Samuel and Nathaniel Whitenect. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Davidson; his brother-in-law, Alfred Stang; and numerous other relatives and members of the extended family.
Born in Saskatoon, Jim was a man of great faith and was devoted to his family. He enjoyed many activities including writing, watching his beloved sports teams, keeping the best manicured lawn in the neighborhood, and in this past year, meeting new friends at the Saskatoon Convalescent Home’s Day Program. Everyone who met Jim thoroughly enjoyed his keen sense of humour. He worked incredibly hard over the years for his family, and his family is forever grateful for his sacrifice.
