Obituary
Mr. Jacob “Jake” Dyck of Lethbridge passed away surrounded by family at Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the age of 56 years.
Jake was born in Cuauhtémoc, Mexico on August 21, 1963 to Margareta Elias and Johan Dyck. He moved to Canada with his family in the 1970’s. He traveled extensively throughout the U.S and Canada for work in his younger years. Jake had six children, 13 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He enjoyed working on cars, spending time with his friends and family, and loved his job at Whissell Contracting before his health forced him into an early retirement. He had a distinct sense of humour and loved to tease anyone in close vicinity to him.
Jake is survived by his 2 daughters, Theresa (Jimmie) Thiessen from Port Barnwell, ON, and Angela Dyck (Ryan Burgess) from Victoria, BC; 3 sons, Isaac (Margaret) Banman of Mexico, Johnny Dyck (Patti Dewsbery) of Lethbridge, and Danny Dyck of Lethbridge; grandchildren, Alyssa, Summer, Noah, April, Jaxon, Asher, Grayson, Lilla, Allister, Logan, Hannah and Violet; 3 sisters, Annie (Abe) Wiebe of Kansas, Helena (George) Dyck of Mexico, and Margaret (Dave) Enns of Kansas; 3 brothers, Henry (Tina) Dyck of Mexico, Pete Dyck of Alberta, John Dyck of Mexico, and Ailin (Marin) Dyck, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Johan and Margareta Dyck; son, Jeffrey Dyck, and granddaughter, Kadence Thiessen.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4 STREET SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Reverend Glenda Wert, officiating.
A private family Interment will take place at Coaldale Community Cemetery following the service.
