Izabella Morava-Protzner October 16th 2020

March 21, 1943– Zalaegerszeg, Hungary
October 16, 2020– Calgary, Alberta
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved friend, grandmother, mother, and wife, Izabella, who passed away on the afternoon of Friday, October 16, 2020, at the age of 77 years.
Izabella received her MD and PhD at the University of Medical Sciences of Hungary, Budapest in 1967. Following her immigration to Canada in 1981, she had a prolific career in Anatomical Pathology, working at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, then as Division Head at Saint John Regional Hospital, New Brunswick, and finally at Calgary Lab Services, Alberta.
Izabella has impacted many lives by her happy disposition, inspiring and encouraging her family, friends and colleagues to their full potential. She was a role model and mentor to her colleagues and friends and her guidance will be dearly missed. To her family, she was our source of love and support. Her love of opera will always echo in our hearts.
We will miss her kindness, intelligence, and joie de vivre. We are so proud of her, not only for her accomplishments, but also for the person she was.
We will always love you, and you will always be in our hearts.
Izabella is survived by her husband, Kalman Protzner; her daughter, Andrea Protzner; her son-in-law, Filomeno Cortese; and grandchildren, Adam and Luke. She also leaves behind extended family in Hungary and the United States, as well as friends around the world.
If friends so desire, Izabella and her family would appreciate memorial tributes to be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, 110-1525 Carling Ave, Ottawa, ON, K1Z 8R9, www.heartandstroke.ca.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Izabella Morava-Protzner October 16th 2020..
