Obituary of Hiram Lawrence Erwin
ERWIN, Hiram Lawrence “Hi” of Port Dover, passed away at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 in his 87th year. Predeceased by his wife Florence (2018). Cherished father of Bonnie Luton, loving grandfather of Michelle Jones-Luton (Mike McMorrow), and Kylee Dewhirst, great grandfather of Ashley Crawley (Dan), and great-great grandfather of Michaela and Ronan Crawley and Jax and Jesse Jr. Luton, son-in-law, Rob Jones. Dear brother of Elgin of Hamilton, Bucky of Port Dover and Jack of St. Catharines. Hiram will be sadly missed by the Walker family. Predeceased by his grandson Jesse Luton (2016), son-in-law Ron Luton (2008), brother, Joe and sisters Ann, Jenny, Shirley, Vera and Elsie. Hiram was a proud union member and a 24 year employee of Ontario Hydro. In his younger years he was a commercial fisherman. He loved going to the casino (especially when he won), also enjoyed playing scratch tickets. He spent many hours at his second home, the Dover Dairy Bar. His dog Beautiful will be lost without him. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Hiram at visitation at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519) 583-1530 on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm. A Service to Celebrate Hiram’s life will be Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11 am in the funeral home Chapel. The Reverend Kathryn Vance officiating. Interment Woodhouse Cemetery. For those wishing, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or Purrfect Companions would be greatly appreciated.
