It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hilda Winifred Allen On November 2, 2020, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Hilda was born in Canaan on November 24,1937. She was a daughter of the late Harvey Ray & Leona (White) Hurlbert. Some of her many talents and hobbies over the years were reading, yard sailing, gardening, baking and in her later years her iPad. Hilda was known amongst her family for her delicious homemade apple pies and donuts. She was a former employee of Dominion Textiles in her earlier years. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years of marriage, James; sons, James (Kim) Allen, Sandford; Gary (Tracey) Allen, Lake George; daughters , Judy (Keith) Greene, South Ohio ; Sharon (Victor) Houston, Yarmouth; grandchildren, Jamie, Dawn, Shelby; Stacy, Garett; Jennifer, Jodi, Kelly, Colton. 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Michael; brother, Alfred; sister, Miriam; three brothers and 2 sisters in infancy. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium Yarmouth. A graveside service will be held at the Forest Glen Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund.
