Helen Mazure Malkoski Friday January 24th 2020 avis de deces

Helen Mazure – January 24, 2020
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Helen Mazure (nee Malkoski) at the tender age of 100. Beloved daughter of Jan and Ethel Malkoski both predeceased. Loving best friend and cherished wife of Dugald Clinton Leitch (predeceased 1954) and Jules Mazure (predeceased 1989). Treasured Mom of Ross Ranger, Karen Votour (Roy), Jim Mazure (Georgia), Don Mazure (Betty) David Leitch (predeceased 2018), Barbara Upton (Robin), Janna Reid (Gary), Cindy Waller (Rob). Deeply loved and fondly remembered by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and their families. Dearest friend to Myrna Rowe and many others.
Originally from Watrous, Saskatchewan, Helen fell in love and raised her kids in the Sudbury area. Mom always said she was so lucky to have been loved so well by two amazing men. Some of her fondest memories include building her first home with Dugald on Lonsdale when it wasn’t even a street yet and time spent with Jules, friends and family at the Key River. She was a talented cook and baker and loved to see everyone savouring her delicious creations. Later, she would beam with pride when many of her family members would prepare recipes passed down from her heart and soul to us.
Helen was a tender, sweet soul and made an impression on all who knew her. She treated everyone with kindness and love and charmed all with her beautiful, beaming smile. She had a great sense of humour and kept us all laughing with her hilarious one-liners and sayings. We were all so very blessed to have her in our lives for so long, but she will forever live on in our hearts and memories.
We would like to give special thanks to all of the amazing staff at Pioneer Manor, who supported us on this journey and cared for our mom with such tenderness, compassion and humanity. As Mom always said, “You make my heart smile.”
At Helen’s request, there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honour to the Northern Cancer Foundation, Angels in Pink Fund or a charity of your choice. The family also requests that you leave a memory of Helen on the Lougheed Site. For donations, or messages of condolences, www.lougheed.org www.lougheed.org/. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
