Reid, Helen Marie (Petahtagoose) – Age 86 years, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019. Helen started her journey into the spirit world from the Willow Lodge in Tatamagouche, N.S. Beloved wife of Russell “Sandy’ Alex Reid; mother of Bonita “Bonnie” Dale Reid; Cherished grandmother of Chelsea and Paul Bourget; Dear sister of Bernard (Helen), Annette Reynish (Stanley), George (Linda), Art and Harvey. She was the dear daughter of the late George and Julia Petahtagoose and also predeceased by Marina Helmer, Carol Nootchtai, Lorne Petahtagoose, Lawrence, Lorraine, Richard, Bertha and Lilly. Helen was an excellent homemaker, cook, gardener, listener and mom. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, picking blueberries, being on the water and exploring new areas with Sandy. She was proud to be an Anishnawbe Qwe and missed her family in Ontario. She resided in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia for 35 years. The family would like to thank the nurses at Willow Lodge for their kindness and care in her final hours where she passed peacefully in her sleep. Cremation has taken place.
