Hazel Iris Tree
1936-2020
Hazel Tree of Moncton passed away peacefully at her residence
with her family by her side, on November 3rd,
2020. Born in Kitchener, Ontario she was the eldest daughter
of William James and Catherine Edna (Halls) Sparling.
Hazel was a full time home maker devoted to raising her four
children. She was raised in Ontario and relocated to Moncton
when her husband Clarke transferred to the CNR Shops in
1958.
She was a longtime member of Mount Royal United Church as
well as longtime member of; St. John’s United Church Couples
Club, Mount Royal United Church UCW, Domestic Engineers Bowling team
and IODE Blakney Chapter.
She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren,
and loved to keep up to date with everyone’s news. She was
extremely proud of all of them.
Hazel loved to read and was very knowledgeable on many
topics. She had an extremely keen memory and was relied upon
as the family historian and perfect Trivial Pursuit partner.
Hazel was an avid traveler until her Parkinson’s progressed.
She enjoyed the many concerts and trips with her husband
Clarke’s musical group the Sus Avenue
Fiddlers.
She will be deeply missed by her four children,
David (Brenda) of Fredericton, Stephen (Jeannette) of Moncton, Susan
Tree Bujold (Val) of Riverview , Jim (Janet) of Fredericton, sister
Jean Lowe of Tavistock, Ont., sister- in-law Marie Herman of
Stratford, Ont., 11 grandchildren; Jason, Andy, Matthew, Katie, Sarah,
Emma, Sophie, Sam, Ava, Robbie, Alex, as well as her nieces and
nephew; Brenda (Gerry) Krug, Cathy Prawer, Kathy Stere and Gregg
Lowe.
Besides her parents, Hazel was predeceased by her loving
husband of 62 Years Clarke and her brother Robert.
Special Thanks to the Staff at Monarch Hall.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home , 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview
(869-2007) on Sunday November the 8th
from 2 to 4 PM, with Covid measures in place (masks
required). A private Family Service will be held at a later date to
celebrate Hazel’s Life. If desired donations in
Hazel’s Memory may be made to Parkinson’s
Canada.
