Harry Stewart
1934-2020
Harry Lee Stewart, of Bridgewater, passed away on December
28th, 2020 in Harbour View
Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg. Born on July 6, 1934, he was a
son of the late Victor and Helen (Dagley) Stewart. Harry grew up in
Conquerall Mills and was a past member of St. Andrew’s
United Church, Crousetown. He was a hard worker throughout his life,
working in logging camps, woodcutting for Bowater Mersey, farming on
Himmelman’s Farm, peddling fish in Lunenburg and
Queen’s Counties, working for South Shore Ready Mix and he
retired from Michelin. He enjoyed visiting nursing homes with his dog,
Coco, salmon fishing, gardening, carpentry, playing cards, attending
card parties and helping others.
In his later years he was cared for by Earth Angels, South
Shore Regional Hospital, Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, and
finally Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis (Richard); daughters Shirley
Naugler (Weldon), Italy Cross, Lynne Stewart (Walter Tanner), Halifax,
and Trina Fancy (Richard Billings), Cookville; sister Jean Legge,
Liverpool; brothers Owen, Crousetown, and Wallace (Heather), Pentz;
and 5 grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday
January 5, 2021 at 11:00 am in Crousetown Community Cemetery,
Crousetown, Reverend Willis Ott officiating. In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or
a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the
R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, where on-line condolences may be
