Mr. Harold Roy Selander of Medicine Hat passed away on Sunday, December 29th, 2019 at the age of 90 years. Harold leaves to cherish his memory his children, Brian (Debbie) Selander, Delorie (Neil) Jacobs, and Denise (Kim) Closson; grandchildren, Melanie (Jason) Beisel, Kirsten Jacobs, Brea Jacobs, Brennen Closson (Chelsea) and Jenna Closson; great-grandchildren, Shaye and Teagan Beisel; sisters, Dolly Leigh and Sharon Beckett; long time family friend, Barron (Tara) Paul; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Jalmer Selander and Ida Crabbe; and sisters, Phyllis Savola and Helen Johnson. Harold was born in Shaunavon, SK on August 12, 1929. He spent his early working years as a crane operator before discovering his true purpose and passion for carpentry. Through hard work and determination, Harold became a very talented finishing carpenter and was able to construct many beautiful pieces that will be treasured for many years to come. When Harold wasn’t busy with work, he enjoyed watching rodeos; was passionate about country & western music and dancing; and he enjoyed fishing when he had the time. Harold will be missed dearly by all those who knew ad loved him. A celebration of Harold’s life will take place later in Swift Current, SK.
