KEENAN, Harold George
March 6, 1943 – December 19, 2020
Harold passed away peacefully at the age of 77, surrounded by family and friends at Elisabeth Bruyère Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Son of the late Thomas and Agnes (nee Hayes). Survived by his wife Judi (nee Joiner), brother Doug (Donna), aunt Thelma (the late Bill Michie), nephew Russ, adored nieces Emily & Britney, and very special friends: Kim Kelso, Barb Atwill, Lyle Fraser, Fred & Mary Ann Alexander, Bob Bonner.
Harold was passionate about politics. In 1978 he was elected to the City Council of Gloucester where he served on the Planning, Emergency Services, Roads, and Equipment Committees until 1988. Harold had many business endeavors, some of which include farming, water haulage and auction services. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Canada Exhibition, Gloucester Lions Club, Gloucester Chamber of Commerce and the Ontario and Canadian Hereford Associations.
Harold was a generous person with a big heart, who will be missed by many. Special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at the Montfort Hospital, the Ottawa Hospital, Saint-Vincents, and Elisabeth Bruyère.
