Grace McLaughlan
1939-2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Grace Irene
McLaughlin announces her passing which occurred on Friday, August 28,
2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Hatfield Point, NB,
on May 10, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Etta
(Vail) Ricketson.
Grace is survived by her children: Heather McCafferty (Dale
Giblin) of Kelowna, BC, and Gerald Ricketson of Saint John, NB;
step-sons: Tom McLaughlan (Abby) of Lincoln, NB, and Bob McLaughlan
(Pearl) of Belleisle, NB; grandchildren: Michelle McCafferty and Eric
Giblin; brother Ralph Ricketson (Marilyn) of Norton, NB; sister Bertha
Watters of Belleisle Creek, NB; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Grace was predeceased by her loving
husband Robert “Bob” McLaughlan; brothers: Harold
and Joe Ricketson; and sisters: Hazel Green, Mary Dempster and Thelma
Trites.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s
Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road,
Norton, NB, and due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral
service will be held. A private family interment will take place at
St. Simon & St. Jude’s Cemetery.
Memorial donations in memory of Grace may be made to the War
Amps or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal
