At the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus on Sunday, November 22,2020 Gloria Zelak (nee Laviolette) passed away peacefully from her dementia at the age of 91. Beloved daughter of the late Paul Laviolette and Emilia Fauteux. Predeceased by her husband Stephen Zelak. Predeceased by her good friend and partner Norman Dewar. Proud and caring mother of Linda Ethier (Bruce Trowsse) and Roy (Terry Arthurs). Predeceased by her daughter Dianne Watters. Cherished grandmother of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by all her siblings Bertha Trottier, Jeannine Desabrais, Paulette Boyer and Paul Laviolette Jr. and the Zelak in-laws. She will be sadly missed by the Ivanski children, who treated her like gold and who she loved dearly. Special thank you to Marie Ange Bontemps and Bruno Theoret who provided wonderful compassionate care for the last 2 ½ years.
Gloria worked hard all her life especially on her farm on Seven Hills Road, in her own words “Hard work never killed anybody”.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Funeral on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 11 am at St Grégoire-de-Nazianze Church, 137 Higginson Street, Vankleek Hill. Due to Covid Restrictions, attendance will be limited.If you wish to attend the Service it is mandatory to RSVP. Please Click here to register or you may call (613) 678-2002. Masks and Physical Distancing must be respected. Interment will follow at St Paul’s Catholic Cemetery, Dalkeith, Ontario.
