TOWNSEND, Gladys Bernice – age 93, Sandford, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born July 15, 1926 in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late John Sidney and Anne Bernice (Hayes) Townsend. Raised in Kemptville by Kenneth and Lucy Mood, Gladys was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was employed by Sobeys Ltd., having worked in the meat department for many years until her retirement. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Ethel and Beatrice “Bea”, as well as by brothers, Stephen and Ralph. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or memorial service at this time. Interment will take place at a later date in the family plot at Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. A heartfelt than you for the care provided by Dr. Prabhu and the nursing staff of 4-East at the Yarmouth Hospital.
