HALVERSON, Gertrude Edith (nee Healy) 1929-2020 – passed away the Cedarwood Village Nursing Home, Simcoe on Sunday, September 20th, 2020 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Sidney Halverson (1983). Loving mother of Linda MacSweyn of Port Dover, Gail Kwarciany (John) of Texas and David Halverson of Toronto. Cherished grandmother & great grandmother of Lindsay Butak, daughter Alicia Edmondson; Melissa Edwards, daughter Emmersyn; Suzanne Shaw, daughter Vivian; and Christine Tirrell, daughter Maddison. Gertrude will be sadly missed by her brother-in-law Don Chalk, his daughter Kim and by her dear friends Fran & Andy DeVrye. Predeceased by her siblings Juanita, Edna, Richard & Kenneth. A private family visitation & service (by invitation only) will be held at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. N. Simcoe. Facial coverings must be worn by all. Private interment Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe. Those wishing to donate in memory of Gertrude are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Society of H-N or the Cedarwood Village Nursing Home.
