George’s Obituary
Gillis, George A. – Age 94, of Meadowvale, passed away Sunday November 22, 2020 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville with his wife, Barb by his side. George was born in New Waterford, November 6, 1926 to Alexander and Marcella Gillis. He worked in service for the Canadian Armed Forces for over 25 yrs. He was a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 98. Kingston, NS. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family including beloved dogs, Peanut, BamBam and Crosby and cat, B.J. George was a well-liked man who would help anyone. He will be fondly remembered. George is survived by his wife of over 59 yrs., Barbara (Logan); daughter, Sandi, both of Meadowvale; son, Daniel, Kingston; brother, Russell, Kirkland Lake, ON; nephew, John MacDonnell Sr., Camperdown. Besides his parents, George was predeceased by sisters, Rita, Bette and Catherine; brothers, Joe, Alexander, Bizzer and Daniel. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of George’s life will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., Middleton, NS toll free 1-855-825-3448.
